Western Africa

Floods across western Africa in September 2007 were the worst for several decades. Hundreds of thousands of people were at least temporarily displaced, there was a great demand for medical equipment, drugs and supplies to help get health services back to normal. At the request of WHO the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided funds for the purchase of health kits. The recovery operations was coordinated by WHO and the WHO Regional Ofice for Africa.
