Norwegian Church Aid
Norwegian Church Aid (Kirkens Nødhjelp) is a non-governmental, ecumenical organisation that works to promote the basic rights of human beings.
Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) is rooted in the Christian faith. Nonetheless, we support those who need it most, irrespective of gender, political conviction, religion and ethnic origin. Norwegian churches and congregations make up the constituency of NCA. In order to achieve lasting results we cooperate with church-based and other local organisations through long-term development projects, emergency preparedness and response and advocacy.
In an emergency situation it is extremely important to react quickly and cooperate closely with other organisations to ensure the right assistance is delivered to the right place. NCA works closely with the ACT Alliance network, United Nations (UN) and other humanitarian actors to ensure that a timely and appropriate response is delivered when disaster strikes.
NCA is responsible for the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) service package within NOREPS. NCA is in the process of developing a new modular based equipment catalogue based upon the
Global WASH Cluster's "
Emergency WASH Materials" project. NCA hopes to be able to offer these complete WASH modules to other NOREPS
partner organisations.
NCA also facilitates global storage for NOREPS partners through our agreement with the United Nations Humaniatarian Response Depots (
UNHRD)
